This problem is often caused when someone deletes the vacuum bottle behind the front bumper.  However, my bottle is still in place behind the stock bumper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I studied the vacuum diagram and saw there is a check valve where the source connects to the intake manifold.  I tested mine by blowing through it. I could easily blow both ways so the check valve is bad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>I found a set of VW <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2XoTtW6\">check valves on Amazon<\/a> so I got those instead of the exact replacement for the Jeep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2XoTtW6\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mikestrawbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/vwcheckvalve.jpg?fit=525%2C525\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5059\" width=\"131\" height=\"131\" srcset=\"http:\/\/mikestrawbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/vwcheckvalve.jpg 1300w, http:\/\/mikestrawbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/vwcheckvalve-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/mikestrawbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/vwcheckvalve-300x300.jpg 300w, http:\/\/mikestrawbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/vwcheckvalve-768x768.jpg 768w, http:\/\/mikestrawbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/vwcheckvalve-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/mikestrawbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/vwcheckvalve-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 131px) 100vw, 131px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The replacement valve is slightly larger but fits fine in place of the original one.
