There was a nail in the tread.<br \/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"420\" height=\"560\" src=\"http:\/\/mikestrawbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/tireplug2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5255\" srcset=\"http:\/\/mikestrawbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/tireplug2.jpg 420w, http:\/\/mikestrawbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/tireplug2-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I used pliers to remove the nail. Sure enough, it went all the way in and the air began to hiss out one it was removed.<br \/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2r2xncx\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"420\" height=\"560\" src=\"http:\/\/mikestrawbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/tireplug3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5256\" srcset=\"http:\/\/mikestrawbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/tireplug3.jpg 420w, http:\/\/mikestrawbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/tireplug3-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I got my <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2r2xncx\">tire plug kit <\/a>out and began reaming out the hole.\u00a0 Be sure when you do this step you are sure to follow the original injury and don\u2019t add a second hole. If you do you will end up with a leak right beside your new plug.<br \/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2r2xncx\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"420\" height=\"560\" src=\"http:\/\/mikestrawbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/tireplug4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5257\" srcset=\"http:\/\/mikestrawbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/tireplug4.jpg 420w, http:\/\/mikestrawbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/tireplug4-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Once I had the reamer inserted, I cheated and used a drill to spin the reamer.&nbsp;<br \/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"420\" height=\"560\" src=\"http:\/\/mikestrawbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/tireplug5.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5258\" srcset=\"http:\/\/mikestrawbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/tireplug5.jpg 420w, http:\/\/mikestrawbridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/tireplug5-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>With the hole opened, up I peeled a plug out of the pack and put it in the insertion tool.&nbsp; Since it was cold and the pug was very stiff, I used a heat gun to speed things up.
